Epoxy Garage Floors

The classic coated garage floor — flake or solid color, over concrete that's been prepped right. A tough, stain-resistant surface for everyday parking, projects, and storage across the Salt Lake Valley.

Flake and solid color

Two looks, same idea: a hard epoxy surface bonded to your concrete instead of paint sitting on top of it.

  • Flake epoxy. Decorative color flakes broadcast into the coating while it's wet, then sealed with a clear topcoat. The flake hides dust and small imperfections, adds slip resistance, and gives the floor its familiar speckled garage look. The most popular choice for a working garage.
  • Solid-color epoxy. A clean, uniform color with a smooth finish. A good fit when you want the garage to read as a finished room — a workshop, a gym, or a showroom for your cars.

What the process looks like

  1. Prep. The concrete gets diamond-ground to open it up so the coating can bond, and cracks get repaired. This is the step that decides whether the floor lasts — see our repair & prep page for why it matters so much in Utah.
  2. Base coat. The epoxy base coat goes down over the prepped concrete. For flake floors, the flakes are broadcast into the wet coat.
  3. Topcoat and cure. A clear topcoat seals the system, and then the floor cures. Epoxy takes longer to cure than polyaspartic — plan on the garage being out of use for a few days, and we'll confirm the timeline with your quote.

What an epoxy floor stands up to

A properly installed epoxy floor resists oil drips, chemicals, and abrasion far better than bare concrete or concrete paint, and it sweeps and mops clean instead of holding dust and stains. It's a working surface, not a showpiece you have to baby — park on it, roll toolboxes over it, and wash it down when it gets dirty.

One honest note: epoxy is not the right pick for every situation. If you need the garage back in a day, or the weather is cold, a polyaspartic system may fit better. We'll tell you which one makes sense for your garage before you spend anything.
